1. Overview

POH Buddy ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and handle information in connection with the POH Buddy mobile application ("App") and this website.

We collect the minimum amount of personal information required to operate the App. We do not sell your data to third parties.

2. Information We Collect

The only personal information we store is the email address associated with the account you use to sign in. This email is obtained through the authentication provider you choose (Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In) at the time of account creation.

We do not collect or store:

Your name or other profile details beyond the email address
Location data or GPS information
Flight logs, route data, or any operational flight information
Device contacts, photos, or files
Any information about the aircraft you operate in real life

3. How We Use Your Information

Your email address is used exclusively for the following purposes:

To identify your account and authenticate you when you sign in
To associate your in-app preferences (such as your selected aircraft) with your account
To manage and verify your subscription status
To contact you in the event of significant changes to the App or these policies (infrequently, if ever)

We do not use your email for marketing purposes or share it with advertisers.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your account data (including your email address) is stored securely using Google Firebase Authentication and Firebase Realtime Database, both of which implement industry-standard encryption and access controls.

In-app preference data (such as your selected aircraft and subscription state) is stored in Firebase Realtime Database, linked to your user account by a unique, anonymous user ID — not your email address directly.

While we take reasonable precautions to protect your data, no system is completely secure. You use the App at your own risk, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted to or from the App.

5. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

Google Firebase (Authentication, Realtime Database) — firebase.google.com/support/privacy
Apple Sign-In — governed by Apple's Privacy Policy
Google Sign-In — governed by Google's Privacy Policy
RevenueCat — for subscription management (processes anonymized purchase data)
Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) — for advertising in the free tier; ad behaviour is governed by Google's advertising policies

These services may collect anonymized or aggregated usage data for their own operational purposes. We do not have access to individually identifiable data collected by these services beyond what is described above.

6. Your Right to Delete Your Account

You have the right to permanently delete your account at any time. When you delete your account, your email address and all associated account data (preferences, aircraft selections, and user record) are permanently removed from our systems. This action is irreversible.

To delete your account, use the "Delete Account" option within the App settings. If you experience any issues doing so, please contact us through the feedback function in the App and we will process your deletion request manually within a reasonable time.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data (email and preferences) for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all personal data associated with it is deleted promptly. Anonymized, aggregated usage data not linked to any individual user may be retained indefinitely for product improvement purposes.

8. Children's Privacy

POH Buddy is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete that information.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the App after changes are published constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
